We will use all of our expertise, which is considerable, since John has been doing this full time for over forty years. Many millions of dollars and thousands upon thousands of acres have gone into his professional education. Aside from various professional and educational designations including law school at St. Mary's School of Law in Texas, and successful completion of hundreds of hours of specific real estate courses in Oregon, Texas, Washington, D.C., Utah, Florida and Maryland, also at the RNMI and Securities and Syndication Institutes, John has a wealth of personal experience in the transfer, acquisition, placement of water rights, road building, land development, optimal cabin placement, etc.; basically all phases of land acquisition on hundreds of separate beautiful properties.
I have completed the successful negotiation and sale of properties to Fortune 500 companies, foreign ambassadors and investors, as well as to first time buyers of ranch properties. It doesn't matter if you've done this many times and have invested millions of dollars or if this is your first experience in cabin and ranchland ownership. You have dreamed and you have saved for years and "Helping in the process is my mission and my joy."
Raised by a faithful and devoted mother and a father with high integrity, together, they were wonderful examples to me in my youth.
My father John Carroll Cone a veteran fighter pilot for the Army Air Services was later elected as Arkansas's state auditor and created the Arkansas Aircraft Company. He left the state of Arkansas for Washington DC to become an assistant director for the Air Commerce Bureau, a precursor of the FAA. The next year, he was hired by Pan American to manage the north Atlantic division of one of the nation’s flagship airlines. He remained involved in government aviation policy at a national level as an advisor on commercial aviation to Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry Truman.
My mom had high hopes of me becoming a Catholic priest. She loved her faith and she challenged me a few times as I searched for my own. She was a wonderful mother who also enjoyed inviting dinner guests that included ambassadors, dignitaries, business leaders, House and Senate Representatives, elected and appointed US and world leaders to our dining table. Thanks to my mother being a gracious host our home was often a "whose who" of Washington DC life.
As a young man searching for truth and as a son of a pilot, I had my own "fail safe box" deep in my soul that kept me in check and kept me safe as I sought earnestly for higher wisdom. I always knew truth from error. I tried to find answers in my parents faiths, but I felt these teachings lead me to repeated dead ends. With a yearning for more, I studied Eastern philosophy's including Buddhism and I even sought the help from a Hindu guru and joined his commune hoping for further enlightenment. Sadly, he didn't have any deeper insight and these confusions only added to spiritual darkness.
In desperation I turned to the bible and read the gospels. I was struck by a particular passage I read in Matthew 21:22 which propelled me to my knees in prayer. It read:
"All things whatsoever he shall ask in prayer believing behold ye shall receive.”
I needed to find answers and so I asked. I prayed in earnest to be led to good friends that would help me live a good life and to be closer to Christ. My prayer was quickly answered when in a few short days I was introduced to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Their teachings had such a profound effect upon me that I asked to be baptized. Six days later I had my wish and additionally received the gift of the Holy Ghost and soon the Priesthood of Aaron, which is the literal power of God on this earth to bless and serve the children of God.
After my baptism in the font located at the Bethesda, Maryland, Chevy Chase ward, my new Bishop was wise enough to send me to Rick's College in Rexburgh, Idaho. He figured with my shirt still wet from being baptized I would need the influence and protection of a church school. Three days later I was on a flight to Idaho and I soon made the new friends I had prayed so earnestly for, less than a couple of weeks prior.
In the following two years, I studied the doctrines in The Church of Jesus Christ. I now felt prepared to teach His gospel and I was soon called to serve a mission for The Church to Spain. My experiences in Spain strengthened my love for the Lord and I felt an added love for His children, most especially for the Spanish speaking people.
"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord...as arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that that his quiver full of them."
As I gained additional education and found joy in my work, my greatest pride has come from my family. I have been so richly blessed as a father. Being a dad is not for the faint of heart and raising children up unto the Lord has it's growth and learning opportunities. However, I am grateful that being a father and a grandfather is an eternal blessing and I will have time on earth and in post mortality to teach my children the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
If I am not with my family or with you, in a jeep, touring the many acres of ranch land that I want to share with you, you will find me hiking with my dog in the beautiful Wasatch mountains of Utah
A disciple is simply someone who believes in Jesus as the Christ and seeks to follow Him in daily life. I am committed to following His will.
A prophet of God by the name of Joseph Smith, met both God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. This led to the organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 1830, a direct answer to the Apostle Peter's prophecy in the New Testament that there would be a "restitution of all things" (Acts 3:21).
Over decades of triumphs and tragedies, I have come to know that there is purpose in our life, there is a path that has been given to us and there is direction through prayer.
As a guide to assist you in finding your homestead retreat, I recognize that you will be making one of the most important decisions of your life. I will be praying for you and with you, with the power of God that His will, will bless your life for good.
As we pray together you and I will have guidance from our Heavenly Father to make the right decisions during your transition to land ownership and the secluded peace that is best received high on the mountain tops. The Spirit of God will be a witness to you. Please allow me to share this joyful Spirit with you. You will come to appreciate this comforting feeling of peace.
